Brooding Little Grebe

A couple of Little Grebes (Tachybaptus ruficollis) apparently decided that starting a family really late in the season was a great idea. They had also come to the conclusion that placing the nest 20 feet from a restaurant would be all kinds of awesome.

The obvious upside to the outside observer is that photographers could get withing camera range of a Little Grebe nest by strolling along the brink of the pond instead of stealthily wading through reedbeds and breaking a law or two.
